Your wolves are great! I can't draw canines to save my life, I envy those who can draw them! But I do hope to learn their anatomy at some point, to enable an easier on-look to canine art Any tips for the horse-turning canine artist?!
Thank you! Hmmm as far as tips go, honestly just look at real life photos and references. I'd also recommend watching videos of wolves on youtube (helps get a feel for the anatomy and movement). I would definitely not by referencing work from other people. A lot of the wolves on dA (coughminecough) are heavily stylized and distort actual anatomy. Best to learn from life first and stylize later. Other than that just practice practice practice! I have a youtube channel with walkthroughs if you want to look there as well, but like I said, life is the best! Youtube channel: [link]
I use faber castelle, Derwent colorsoft, and prismacolors. The types of pencils definitely help but a lot of it is about technique and layering. I've seen some pretty awesome pieces done in just Roseart. Nice pencils definitely makes the process less painful though.
