Ivy Wolf Tattoo by Lucky978 Ivy Wolf Tattoo by Lucky978
This is a tattoo commission for :iconnightwatcher15: featuring her fursona Ivy in a climbing pose with some poison ivy design.

This was immensely fun :D I went back to markers and colored pencils for this, which I haven't done in forever.

This is solely to be used by the commissioner. If you are interested in your own design, send me a note.

Heheh... I feel a little sheepish asking, but what kind of markers did/do you use? Your marker work is amazing!

No need to be sheepish :D

I use a mix between tombo and copic markers. I really love the tombo because they blend nice, have fine brushlike tips, and work great with water. They almost have a painterly quality. The copic markers are great because they are alcohol based and don't bleed too bad and 'stay put' when water is added. I use both for different effects. I always recommend the tombos to beginners because they are cheaper and a little easier to get the hang of, and have brilliant color (not to mention they are my favorite). Copics can get very very pricey.
for this piece, I actually used primarily colored pencil. I use a mix of prismacolors and polychromos. When layered right, they can achieve a very smooth almost painterly effect.

Feel free to ask any other questions you might have. I know when I first started experimenting with different materials, I always had lots of questions for everyone on deviantART XD. It's actually how I learned a lot of what I know now :)
