Okay, this one took a while...but I am very pleased with the result and I think it is one of my personal bests. Commission for:
This is definitely the largest pendant I have ever made. I believe the skeleton key itself measures about 4 inches in length. Because of its massive size, I had to take a different approach to adding on materials. I used a drill and a cobalt drill bit to drill holes into the key (which required some tedious measurements). I then went back and filled the holes with adhesive and pushed screws through the holes to hold the large pieces together. The result is a stronger key and a more mechanical look. This whole process is what took a majority of the time XD. I put this pendant on a very long chain because it is meant to be worn LLOONNGG. I really think that is the only way to wear a large pendant like this. The chain is heavy duty to prevent links from bending. Ohhh and the keyhole is not this shiny in real life. My camera just makes silver stuff look extra bright.
Hope you like it! I actually have a drawing to upload tomorrow if I can solve my scanner issue.
I actually had a question about this. I have a key that I have been wanting to do something like this with, but I do not have the tools. If you would be willing, what would be the cost of this if I sent you my key to do this to? Please let me know. Thanks!
you're good with this steampunk
