Very beautiful! The color combination is lovely and the splashes of turquoise really add to the mystical/ fantasy look. I like how the feathers are just slightly tattered in his wings and tail like he's been on a long journey.
I think the fantasy look is down and it doesn't look sinister, but it doesn't really scream protection to me in the face. The wings do, but just not the face. But I do love it, just giving you my opinion.
Hey again! Well, here is my opinion (too lazy to write a critique..and I don't really know how it works XD): I think it is a very beautiful piece as always, though the rather high use of blue and purple in comparison to black somehow makes me think of other birds (like a kingfisher...I don't exactly know why XD). In addition, that bluish colors make it seem a bit cold which, in my opinion, contradicts a bit to the image of a protector..(but it's hard to convey that image with those colors, I admit). The pose itself does fit very well to that idea. All in all I would have used more darker (blue) tones because when I think of fantasy I think either of very bright colors, or darker, decent colors, especially for a raven. I hope you don't feel insulted or anything, I still really like this piece (well...black is always good XD) I just wanted to give you my (rather futile) thoughts about this, I hope you don't mind
