What? I hardly know the meaning of the word anymore XD
Anyway, I've been finding myself a little stressed these past few weeks...I am trying to transfer colleges, my brother moved out for college, I have so much work...everything is just so stressful.
And then I looked back on my workload for the summer and realized that I really haven't created anything for myself. Art is really what keeps me going and feeling happy...the fact that I haven't really taken any time for myself this summer was quite a bummer. I just want one piece to hang up in my room to call my own.
I'm not making this journal to whine though! Quite the opposite. I found myself sketching out a large dragon on a piece of 24inch bristol board this morning, and I knew I wanted to finish him This project could take a few days, but I am hell-bent on getting it done. It really would be nice to finish him and have something big all to myself It seems like all of the big works I create nowadays are commissions. I feel like, as an artist, it is important to create for one's self every now and again.
I guess I wanted to share this with you all as a reminder to not let work for others completely consume you Take time for yourself every now and again! It will make you a happier person and a better artist
