Edit 2: This is a little random, but I just wanted to say how happy it makes me to see that you guys took the time to comment on some of the other pieces posted here Hehe. I've been noticing it as I have been leaving my own feedback, and it is just so so wonderful!
Let me also reassure you guys not to get discouraged by the sheer number of comments- I will get to everybody! I have made it a personal mission (; Even if it takes me a month haha. If you want an idea of the length of the comments I am leaving you can turn to the first and second pages of comments...You might be able to see why this is going to take a bit of time (;
Anyway, thank you guys for the opportunity and mission!
Edit: Hey guys! I just wrote the first critique, and it took me a lot longer than I had anticipated XD I think at this pace I will be able to do say, 5 to 10 a day. Maybe more if I have the time? It is good practice for my art classes, as I am supposed to be writing critiques outside of class as well as inside my classes. Anyway, don't be discouraged if I don't immediately get to you! I will work through everybody's! It's going to take a week or so though. haha
I have been so caught up with school, commissions, and other art this past week--It has been crazy!
Anyway, I constantly feel the urge to give back to this wonderful community that has been so kind to me :3
If you feel like it, you can post any ONE work here that you would like honest feedback on, and I will do my best to give feedback to every artist that posts. This will not be a simple comment like 'nice' or 'cool'. It will be real, honest, heartfelt feedback/critique. I feel that every artist here has the right to that sort of support from a fellow artist!
It makes me sad to see journals and comments lately regarding deviantART as 'turning into facebook' or not caring about less known artists. I want to assure artists out there that there are still those who care about emerging artists, and that deviantART is still a wonderful place if you look in the right spots :3
What is a critique?
For those of you who are not familiar with how to write a proper critique, this is an essential tool for anyone pursuing art as a career. It is a thoughtful response to an artwork, often at least a paragraph (usually more) in length. A critique highlights both the positive and negative attributes of a work of art (it does not sugarcoat, but it also does not aim to bash). A critique also often tries to interpret what the artwork has to say.
This is the sort of feedback I will be leaving.
In a perfect world, I would love for you all to take time to comment on some of your fellow deviantART members who comment in this journal! It is a wonderful experience when we can share as a community rather than just keeping to ourselves But don't feel forced to do this
Thank you all! I hope to see some beautiful work
Oh, and I am exhausted right now, but I will definitely be leaving feedback over the next couple of days...don't get discouraged if I don't immediately get back to you
